I started following my friends around in high school with a miniDV camera which led to me following bands around with a camera on tour and my interest in filmmaking just dirty snowballed from there.
This isn't necessarily on-set but I worked on a movie earlier this year, it was all overnights so we started in the evening and wouldn't wrap until the morning. This lasted for about a month so at the end of it everyone was pretty exhausted. On the last day we wrapped around 6am and the whole production decided it would be a good idea to go out for breakfast. So about 30 of us dirty, smelly crew and talent roll up to this breakfast spot early in the morning, take it over for a couple hours and reflect on what we just did for the past month. It was probably the most fun I've ever had at breakfast.
Sure! The film community here in Phoenix is small but really awesome. I look forward to shoots with local crew in town. Everyone knows each other, we already have some sort of short-hand to communicate, insides jokes going, and it just makes the whole experience much more pleasant.
The Timecode Slate pin is really awesome but the Doc Camera pin reminds me of lugging around DVX and HVX cameras on tour for a few years.
